In this talk, Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Edward J. Larson draws from his book, Declaring Independence: Why 1776 Matters, to explore why and how the fight for freedom launched in 1776 still matters 250 years later. This event is part of UW’s America 250 Celebration and the 2nd annual Humanities Summit. Sponsors include: President’s Office, UW Libraries, Malcolm Wallop Civic Engagement Program, American Heritage Center, Office of Community Engagement, Free Expression, Intellectual Freedom, and Constructive Dialogue Initiative, and the College of Arts & Sciences.
