Historic Scavenger Hunt: 250 Years of American History
Celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary with a free, self-guided adventure through Sweetwater County history. The Historic Scavenger Hunt invites participants to explore 14 unique locations across Rock Springs and Green River, each featuring a piece of local history and a question to answer along the way. Start anywhere, finish anywhere, and complete the hunt at your own pace with friends, family, or fellow history lovers.
After visiting all 14 stops and completing the questions, participants can stop by the Sweetwater Travel & Tourism Visitor Center at 1641 Elk Street in Rock Springs to claim a free Sweetwater Historic Scavenger Hunt t-shirt. This once-in-a-generation celebration is a fun way to discover local stories, explore the community, and connect with the history that helped shape Sweetwater County.
