The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) has been distinguished as the law enforcement agency in Wyoming chosen to host the Flag Sojourn 250 ceremony.  This selection recognizes the elite reputation of the CCSO Honor Guard and the department’s active leadership within the National Sheriff’s Association (NSA), which is spearheading the project nationwide. Wyoming will be the 31st state to fly the flag. As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary (Semiquincentennial), a single American flag is completing a 40,000-mile global odyssey.  This “Sojourner” flag has flown over 26 overseas military cemeteries across 10 countries, honoring Americans buried on foreign soil. “Being selected to represent the State of Wyoming for this national initiative is a testament to the discipline and dedication of our Honor Guard,” said Sheriff Scott Matheny.  “CCSO is proud to support this project, which brings a message of unity and a renewed American spirit to ever corner of our nation.” The ceremony is expected to last approximately 30 minutes and is open to the public.  Following the Wyoming stop, the flag will continue its journey to the remaining 19 states before its final destination in Washington, D.C., on July 4, 2026.   For more information on the National Flag Sojourn, visit:  https://sheriffs.org/national-flag-foundation-sojourn-250
