For the America 250 commemoration, CFD Old West Museum is opening an exhibit dedicated to five of the Presidential visits to Cheyenne. It explores how presidential visits to Cheyenne Frontier Days™ reflect the evolving American story across nearly a century of history. Featuring Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, and George H. W. Bush, the exhibit showcases artifacts, photographs, memorabilia, and stories connected to each president’s time in Cheyenne. From frontier era celebrations to modern political campaigns and media spectacles, these visits reveal how Cheyenne became both a cultural symbol of the American West and a stage for national history.
