You’re invited to the premiere screening of Before Wyoming: The West in 1776.

Presented by Caldera Productions, Wyoming PBS, and Wyoming Humanities, with support from Wyoming’s Semiquincentennial Celebration and the By the People: Conversations Beyond 250 initiative.

This event is free and open to the public and kicks off the Governor’s Semiquincentennial Celebration.

From the first shots of the American Revolution, the story of 1776 has been told largely from the East Coast. Before Wyoming: The West in 1776 shifts the lens westward, revealing a dynamic and often overlooked history unfolding across the Northern Rockies and Great Plains.

In a region once labeled “Parts Unknown,” Indigenous nations thrived while profound changes—carried by horses, trade, and disease—were already reshaping life long before westward expansion arrived.
